Google map is running exceptionally successful in the iOS devices; it was downloaded more than 10 million times within 48 hours after it was made available online.
The news of this milestone was posted in Google+ by Jeff Huber, Google Vice President of Commerce and Local. He has congratulated the Map Team of the company; the team has worked for more than seven years in developing maps for the iOS based gadgets. The said map took the first position on the iTune free applications chart and has remained there for past five days. It received overwhelming response from the customers and has got the overall 4.5 rating.
Well, this is something Apple had to pay for ditching Google for its mapping app; the company replaced the said map with its own mapping software which turned out to be a disappointing move by the largest tech giant of the world. It failed to find out many locations and business names correctly. So, the firm re-approached Google to re-launch their map app for iPhone and here it is, with mind blowing reception rate.
The mapping service by Apple is not that directionally challenged but it seem that the company released it in hurry without prior testing, it was unlikely that the firm, which is known for its perfection, can come up with such a fiddly app yet the great response for the Google’s software indicates that iOS users are happy to get their favourite mapping service back.
The said facility for this platform offers turn-by-turn voice navigation that also estimates the duration of journey. Currently it is available for iPhones only and is soon to arrive for iPad and iPad Mini. With all the positive vibes and accelerated download rate Google Map is sure to rock the world of iOS soon.
